Autumn Tea ceremony Workshop

This is an experience from children to adults alike to enjoy with all five senses the richness of time spent enjoying delicious match and seasonal sweets in a space that values tradition and the beauty of Japanese culture.
Come and take a peek into the world of authentic "Chanoyu" at Ikkeian, a tea room nestled in a Japanese garden near Isshiki Beach in Hayama.
This is a workshop event to experience how to behave at the tea ceremony and how to receive a cup of tea.

*For the 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. sessions, up to elementary school age (up to 12) can also participate.

Venue: Hayama Shiosai Park Ikkeian
Participation fee:
・Adults (junior high school students and above) 3,800 yen (includes entrance fee of Ikkeian)
・Parent and child (with elementary school child) 5,900 yen (includes entrance fee of Ikkeian for 2 people)
*Participation fee for second and subsequent children is 2,000 yen (includes entrance fee of Ikkeian)

We recommend that you register by the day before the workshop, as we may not be able to respond to emails immediately.
*If you are worried about sitting straight on the tatami (Seiza) you can rest your legs in the middle of the workshop.
If you need a chair, please let us know at the time of registration so that we can prepare it for you.
*Please wear clothes that are comfortable for sitting on tatami.
*What to bring:
Please bring your own freshly washed socks or tabi socks to change into before entering the tea room.
