Matcha tasting Tea Party

This is an experience from children to adults alike to enjoy with all five senses the richness of time spent enjoying delicious match and seasonal sweets in a space that values tradition and the beauty of Japanese culture.

Come and take a peek into the world of authentic "Chanoyu" at Ikkeian, a tea room nestled in a Japanese garden near Isshiki Beach in Hayama.

This is a workshop event to experience how to behave at the tea ceremony and how to receive a cup of tea.

Date and time: Saturday, October 26, 2024

11:00/12:00*/13:00/14:00*/15:00, 　　　　　60 minutes each

*You can join the 12:00 and 14:00 sessions with your children of elementary school age or younger

Capacity: 8 people

Venue: Hayama Shiosai Park, Ikkei-an

Participation fee: Adults (junior high school students and older) 4,300 yen (admission fee included)

Parents and children (with elementary school children) 6,300 yen (admission fee for 2 people included)

*Participation fee for second and subsequent children is 2,000 yen (admission fee included)

As we may not be able to respond to emails immediately,

we recommend that you apply by the day before.

*If you are worried about sitting formally, you can take your feet off the mat during the lesson.

If you need a chair, please let us know when you apply.

*Please wear comfortable clothes even when sitting on tatami mats.

*What to bring: You will need to change into your shoes before entering the tea room, so please bring freshly washed socks or tabi socks.
